MON STATE – The leader of Ye Bilu (Ye Ogres) Team reported that they captured a sergeant from the junta fire department while conducting security checks on the Ye Mawlamyaing Highway 8 that is located near junta light infantry 586, 343 and 587 in Ye Township.
It is said that the Ye Bilu Team conducted searches on the highway around 9:40 a.m. on January 16.
“We will be prosecuting the captured individual. The junta forces have blocked the entries into the highway at Apalai Village, Sonpatauk Village, Taungson Village, Sonnatha Village and Konduu Village with gravel trucks in the evening after that event,” said the leader of Ye Bilu.
It is said that the junta council completely blocked off the roads without letting anyone enter.
Currently in Ye Township, military tensions are high as the KNLA led revolutionary forces have seized control of the majority of the township except for the town while the junta council has increased security in the town.
“There are movements among the junta soldiers and police due to the rumours that Ye will be attacked. Rather than the security for the town, we saw them setting up multiple layers of defenses in junta compounds,” said a local news source from Ye.
