YANGON DIVISION – The terrorist junta forces and the thugs led by Khin Maung Zin, the Ward Administration Officer for Ward 94 were reported to have abducted 60 young men in Yuzana Garden City, Dagon Seikkan Township.
On December 31 night, the thugs led by the ward administration officer and terrorist junta soldiers raided the area from A/B 9th Street to 17th Street in Yuzana Garden City and abducted the young people.
In addition, Khin Maung Zin reportedly threatened the residents that family members would be jailed for five years if the young people in the family escaped and that five million Kyats must be paid in ransom to release an abducted young man.
“On the night of the 31st, the Pyu Saw Htee thugs led by Khin Maung Zin of Ward 94, Dagon Seikkan, and junta dogs (junta forces) went from A/B 9th Street to the 18th Street and abducted young men. They also made them fill out forms. 60 young men, including two young men aged 17 and 18 from A 9th Street were reportedly taken as the first batch. The other young men were also threatened. Khin Maung Zin had a name list and also threatened to jail the parents if their children ran away and that the parents will jailed for five years. He also said that we have to pay five million Kyats for the release of an abducted young man,” said a resident.
Khin Maung Zin and his team of thugs previously beat up and murdered 28-year-old Saw Ko Ko Htet from Ingyin Street B in Yuzana Garden City on November 11, 2023, but the junta council turned a blind eye to the murder.
Yangon urban guerrilla forces had also attacked the ward administration office for Ward 94 on February 19 and two hundred household chiefs were killed in the attack but Khin Maung Zin managed to escape.
Despite coming under attack by revolutionary forces like that, Khin Maung Zin continues to serve the terrorist junta council and has been abducting and extorting the young people.
Similarly in Mingalar Taungnyunt Township, residents reported that Thein Myint, the ward administration officer for Thapyaykone Ward officially notified that each household will have to pay 60,000 Kyats month for conscription fees. It is said that the fees will be collected from over 100 households.
“The conscription fees have to be paid at the ward administration office. The deadline is the first waxing day. They called those who had yet to pay and told them to come pay at the office. Each household has to pay 60,000 Kyats month. The one collecting the cash is Then Myint, the ward administration officer for Thapyaykone Ward. There are over 100 households that have to pay the fees,” explained a resident.
