MAGAWAY DIVISION – The two teenagers have been captured for military service after they overtook a junta army’s military vehicle in Sin Paungwe Township, the relatives of the victims reported.
On January 11, Kyaw Min Khant (19) and Phoe Nge (19), from Koe Pin Village of Sin Paungwe Township, went to Aung Lan to play rattan ball. They overtook a military vehicle on the road on their motorcycle. After overtaking, the military vehicle accelerated behind the motorcycle and forced it to stop, and both youths were taken away for military service.
“Two young men overtook a military vehicle while on the way to Aung Lan. They didn’t know it was a military vehicle. They were forcibly taken away by junta thugs to serve in the military. One of the young men was Kyaw Min Khant, the son of Daw Ma Mar Cho from Koe Pin village. The other was Po Nge, the son of Mr. Myint Naing. They were captured and forcibly taken for military service,” a relative explained.
Kyaw Min Khant’s older brother was also abducted by the junta army for military service and is currently in the military.
The local residents of Magway said that the junta army has been escalating in capturing young men in Magway Division for the ninth batch of military training.
