TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The accountable person of Dawna column mentioned that two recruits under the junta council’s Light Infantry Battalion 559 who have just graduated from the military training by the conscription law entered the legal fold under Dawna column along with their weapons.
On January 11, private San Tun Aung and private Aung Myo Kyaw who graduated from the junta council’s no. 12 military advanced training batch 5 had fled along with their weapons while they were serving in the Bokepyin township based Light Infantry Battalion 559.
The private San Tun Aung brought a MA3 machine gun, 100 bullets, 3 cartridges, and a grenade along with him and the private Aung Myo Kyaw brought a MA1 machine gun, 75 bullets and 3 cartridges.
The accountable person of Dawna column mentioned that “they are the civilians who were forcibly conscripted by the junta council. They were trying to flee since they were in the military training school. They ran away as soon as they had a chance.”
Dawna column has accepted those junta council troops who entered the legal fold under Dawna column. The junta council troops who had joined CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) are also fighting against the junta council along with the revolutionary comrades.
Dawna column also issued that if the recruits who were forcibly conscripted and the other junta council servants would like to stand with the civilians can contact Dawna column or the other revolutionary forces to enter the legal fold.
