MYANMAR – The terrorist junta council, facing defeats in battles across the country, is facing a need for a large number of soldiers and has been drafting young people under the military conscription law and also abducting and forcibly conscripting young people on the streets.
Among those abducted was Mr. Aung Paing, a minor under 18 years old, who was abducted on his way back from work in Yangon then sent to the military training academy.
It is said that the junta council ordered the immigration department to issue him a new ID as he was under 18 when he was abducted before sending him to the army.
Mr. Naing Lin Htet, on the other hand, was drafted after his name was picked for conscription.
The two had attended the fifth batch of military training before successfully escaping the junta council.
