SHAN STATE – Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and allied forces including the Mogok Strategy attacked and captured the Infantry Battalion (IB) 144 in Mandalay Division, between Thabeikkyin and Mogok Townships last Friday (August 9).
According to a revolutionary source, the entire IB-148 base, including weapons, ammunition, and drones, was confiscated on August 9, at around 5:00 p.m.
The soldiers of the IB-148 unit have been stationed at the pagodas in Mogok since the battles started. They arrested residents and local doctors and reportedly blocked the transport of commodities on the Mandalay – Mogok Road causing a shortage of basic food items in Mogok.
TNLA, Mogok Strategy, and allied forces reportedly launched offensive attacks on the IB-148 camp starting the morning of June 27.
