KARENNI STATE- The Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) reported that the officials involved in the incident, that occurred on September 11, 2024, where 18 trainees of the Frontline Combat Medic died during a night exercise, were sentenced to prison terms.
The incident reportedly happened on September 11, 2024, at around 8:30 p.m.
The school principal and the physical trainer responsible for the incident were sentenced to one year and three months of prison with hard labor under Article (27)(7) of the Karenni Army’s Military Act, and the training assistant was sentenced to three months of hard labor under Article (27).
It was a great loss for the revolution and were deeply saddened by those trainees who died in the heavy flood. The fallen comrades will be honored accordingly, as mentioned in the statement.
It was reported that 102 trainees attended the course.
