MAGWAY DIVISION – According to an accountable person of Mandalay district battalion 6, the revolutionary alliance forces intercepted the junta council column, which came to reinforce the Yaelelkyun region, in Yesagyo township, Magway division. Due to the interception, 10 junta council troops were reportedly killed.
The revolutionary forces waited and attacked the junta council column consisting of 70 troops which came to reinforce Min village (strong Pyu Saw Htee militants village) in Yaelelkyun region by motor boats, at around 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on December 19. That junta council column used to commit arson and ransack the civilian houses in Nwenikyun village.
Those confrontations lasted for one hour and the revolutionary forces had to retreat due to the shortage of ammunition.
During the battles, ten junta council troops were killed but the revolutionary forces couldn’t manage to confiscate the junta council’s ammunition. While the defeated junta council troops were retreating, they abandoned the junta council’s dead bodies to the Ayeyarwaddy River.
The accountable person of Mandalay Division Battalion 6 mentioned that “we intercepted the junta council troops who came to reinforce Min village. Our comrades saw they (the junta council troops) abandoned the junta council dead bodies at Ayeyarwaddy river. We have tried to capture that Pyu Saw Htee village. But we couldn’t capture the village as our handmade grenades didn’t work out.”
Those attacks were jointly carried out by Mandalay district battalion 6, drone forces, Sadaung Moegyoe column, company 2, Wing Force – company 3, and the other revolutionary alliance forces.
