SOUTHERN SHAN STATE – It is reported that the PNO militia is pressuring refugees who have arrived in Pin Laung township to return to their homes. The PNO also threatens to seal their houses if they do not return.
Due to the fighting in Banmauk village at the beginning of Phekkon township and the end of Pin Laung Township, on November 24th 2024, local residents fled to nearby villages and towns.
PNO has been pressuring them to return home since the end of 2024, so most of them have already returned.
“We don’t have weapons and don’t have the strength to respond, so we have to do as they say. We don’t have the courage to go back but we have to go back,” said one helper who fled the war.
There are around 3,000 people displaced from the war in Pin Laung, and they also need help with basic food items such as rice, oil, and salt.
It is reported that currently the fighting between the junta council, PNO militia and the revolutionary forces is intense in the Shan and Karenni border and the junta council is continuously bombing the area.
