A military source and a source from an administration group said that the Terrorist War Council is planning to arm weapons to Pyu Saw Htee Members, Militia Army, and Security Forces in some villages of Ayeyarwaddy Division bordering Gwa Town.
Those villages in Ayeyarwaddy Division, which border Gwa Township, Rakhine, such as Nga Thaing Chaung and Kyone Pyaw Towns, as well as those security forces, militia forces, and Pyu members from the border villages of Chaungtha, Ngwe Saung, Shwe Thaungyan Sea Coast are planning to be armed by the junta council.
“The military asked for a list of militia members for the weapons to be issued. They said they would issue small arms, rifles, and ammunition to the village-based militias. They took the list and said to provide arms at the end of this month,” said a news source from Ngathaing Chaung Township Administrative Force.
Sources from the junta army also said that the militia and the (Public) Security Forces are to be equipped with MA series guns and said that these weapons are mainly for combat battles.
It is learned that a village-based security system is being established by the junta regime and weapons are being installed. This strategy is found to be a defense against the Arakan Army and PDFs entering Ayeyarwaddy through Gwa town.
