MYANMAR – Data for Myanmar reported that the atrocious junta army and its allied groups burned down over 100,000 civilians’ houses over the three years of the military coup.
Over the three years of the military coup, 106,409 civilians’ houses were destroyed or lost due to arson attacks, while 102,569 civilians’ houses were destroyed or lost due to arson raids by the military council and its allied groups.
In September 2024, a total of 938 civilians’ houses were burned down in Sagaing, Tanintharyi and Mandalay divisions, and Kachin, Chin and Shan (South) states, according to Data for Myanmar.
In 2024, during the fighting that took place in August and September, more than 300 residential houses were destroyed in the residential wards in Indaw Town of Sagaing Division. In September, more than 300 civilians’ houses were burned down during fighting between the Revolutionary Forces and the terrorist junta forces in Hseng Taung Village of Hpakant Township in Kachin State.
