SHAN STATE (SOUTH) – An accountable person of Southern Shan Local Revolution Union (SSLRU) mentioned that they managed to rescue four recruits from the junta council’s Mobye based Infantry Battalion 422, on the border of Shan state and Karenni state.
At around 1 a.m. on January 29, the alliance of SSLRU and the 1008 SSRY (Southern Shan Revolution Youth) Eagle Force went to rescue four recruits from the junta council’s Infantry battalion 508 who were assigned to the Infantry battalion 422 in Mobye town.
It has been reported that those four recruits are the people who were forcibly recruited after declaring the junta council’s conscription law. As they were forced to serve under the junta council against their will, they contacted the revolutionary alliance forces to enter the legal fold on January 25.
The accountable person of SSLRU explained that starting from January 26, the alliance of SSLRU and the 1008 SSRY Eagle Force conducted an operation to rescue those recruits. And on January 29, the revolutionary forces managed to successfully rescue all of them.
The revolutionary forces warmly welcomed to those recruits and kept them in a safe place. The revolutionary forces will let them to decide whatever they want to do. SSLRU announced that they will warmly welcome to those recruits who were forcibly conscripted and the junta council troops who would like to enter the legal fold. SSLRU also urged the junta council servants to desert the junta council and to join with the civilians as soon as possible.
