MYANMAR- For “International Human Rights Day” on December 10th, a ten-day campaign will be held under the theme “Fourth of Human Rights, Land of Fairness and Freedom ” to fight for everyone’s rights and create a new country with justice, peace and human rights, announced the Ministry of Human Rights, the National Unity Government.
This Profile Campaign is from December (2) to December (11).
As a whole public, we have to reveal that we have not surrendered to the unjust oppression of the military dictator, we have been fighting because human rights are banned. As a tribute to all the martyrs who have fought in successive revolutions, we call for the public to participate in the Profile Campaign that will be carried out as a part of the 10 D Campaign.
On December 10, 1991 (10 D), Young students protested in Yangon against the dictatorship, and human rights sustainability and called for the release of Aung San Suu Kyi, the 1991 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who was arrested by the military dictator.
The 10 D movement has been recorded as an important event in Myanmar’s anti-dictatorship history because it was violently cracked down by the military using weapons and violence, where hundreds of young students were arrested.
