BAGO DIVISION – Some local residents said that the Arakha Army (AA) and its allied forces are attacking the Taung Pon Gyi junta council’s camp near Oke Shit Pin, and the fighting has been going on for 2 days.
A resident of Oke Shit Pin said that the AA started attacking the Taung Pon Gyi Junta Council camp which is located on Rakhine Range on the morning of January 1st, which is connected to Toungup.
“It is known that they are allies together with AA. The junta council air raided the area for 2 days. The fight continues today. It is far from the town and difficult for us to try to ask about the ground conditions,” said a local.
The Junta Council’s Propaganda Social Network Pages said that Taung Pon Gyi Military Council Camp is under attack and the revolutionary forces may attack Pyay district.
Oke Shit Pin is located on the other side of the Irrawaddy river from Pyay city included in Pa Taung Township, Pyay district. It is connected to Toungup by road. The junta council troops and departmental staff in Toungup ran away through Toungup – Oke Shit Pin Road while AA attacked and captured the Toungup. There is a Defense Equipment Factory of the War Council in Oke Shit Pin. Some local residents said that the Junta Council employees in Oke Shit Pin had fled to the Pyay in advance when the AA was about to reach Ann.
During the current battle, the junta council being carried aerial bombardments to the villages including Sut Pyat, Mikro and Tha Pyae near the town of Oke Shit Pin. A person close to AA’s Allied Revolutionary Forces said that there were civilian casualties during the air raid, but the details are not yet known.
