BAGO DIVISION – A source close to Pyay District resistance forces reported that six members of PDF were captured by junta forces from a highway bus on the Pyay-Aung Lan Road.
The six were reportedly captured on a Pyay Minthar express bus on October 11.
“Based on the estimated headcount and the date of their disappearance and the announcement by the junta council, it is almost certain. We know some details of the captured but can’t share them,” said the source close to the resistance forces.
It is said that the junta council first captured the men then made them reveal where weapons were stored and seized the weapons but it is not clear how many weapons were seized.
Meanwhile, the telegram channels of junta supporters announced that six PDF members were captured with weapons, claiming that 11 guns, over 300 bullets, 14 cartridges and seven improvised mines were confiscated.
A member of a resistance force active in Pyay District confirmed that the six captured by the junta council are members of the PDF active in Pyay District based on the published images.
Locals said that the junta council abducted and forcibly conscripted five men near the Pyay Shwesantaw Pagoda on the same day.
Junta forces also abducted 12 men under 50 years old from an express bus heading to Aung Lan from Pyay at Bwatgyi checkpoint near Aung Lan on the Aung Lan-Pyay Road on September 3 night.
