MANDALAY DIVISION – Pyu Saw Htee leader Maung Lwin, who was given the Ye Bala Award by the terrorist junta council and two of his family members who were forcibly extorting people using the military conscription in Wundwin Township were shot dead, according to an official from Wundwin Township Revolution Force (WTRF).
Around 9 p.m. on December 22, soldiers of WTRF attacked the Pyu Saw Htee leader who was also the administration officer of Tamarkan Village Tract in Wundwin Township and two of his family members, and all three were eliminated on the spot.
Maung Lwin was previously attacked by revolutionary forces in 2021 but he survived the attack and became a cripple. However, his son and wife used his influence to demand 10,000 Kyats per house from Tamarkan Village, Kyaukoh Village, Minkon Village and Taungsal Village and as much as one million Kyats from houses with young people in addition to threatening and oppressing the civilians.
As a result, the revolutionary forces had to attack the wife and son of Maung Lwin who had been following in his footsteps as well.
“Pyu Saw Htee leader Maung Lwin and family did not change their ways even after the revolutionary forces attacked them for their extreme oppressions of civilians. Instead, they doubled down on their atrocities in the villages of Tamarkan Village Tract and raised Pyu Saw Htee thugs as their guards which is why we attacked Maung Lwin and his family members,” said the official from WTRF.
