MAGWAY DIVISION – An official from Salin Township People’e Defence Organisation (PDO) reported that the PDO raided and arrested the gambling dens at the villages in Salin Township.
It is said that the members of the PDO arrested the gambling dens in the villages of the territory under the control of the PDO on January 25.
The arrest intends to put a stop to the spread of gambling in Salin Township and to prevent consequent problems such as thefts and robbery.
The arrested individuals were released after a warning this time but it is said that repeat offenders will be punished according to the law.
“For the first time, we have only given out warnings. But if they continue gambling despite being warned, we will implement effective punishments. During times of political unrest, the spread of gambling can lead crimes, that’s why we carried out the arrest and issued warning, in order to put a stop to gambling before it spreads,” explained the official from Salin Township PDO.
