SHAN STATE: The military column leader of Pa-O National Army and Pa-O National Organization (PNA/PNO) under the junta’s council was known to have fired against the fishing boats and extorted money from the motor boats which carried corns and cement in Lonekan group, Nyaung Shwe Township, Innlay region, southern Shan state, known from a member of revolutionary support.
PNA was known to have fired three shots against the fishing boats from Nansint village around 9:15 a.m. on December 30.
On December 28, the military column leader of PNA reportedly caught the motorboats carrying the corns at Lonekan market and asked them to give ransom money. Moreover, the fishing boat from Nansint village was also shot by heavy artillery.
“The military column leader cursed and beat his supporters who reopened the jetty gate, taking money,” said by the local people.
Similarly, the gang led by captain Yakkha, No.(7) battalion commander of PNO also collected money from the car owners in Lonekan village tract, last August with receipts, charging a small car for 50,000 Kyats and big cars for 100,000 Kyats each.
“If the money asked was not given, the cars will be used to carry loads and captured. The extorted money is given to Tealone village, Germany road, at the south side of checkpoint,” said by a local civilian.
PNA Pyithusitt (militia) group was known to be extorting money from the fishmongers at Lonekan village market and at the checkpoint of Lonekan village, they are also firing guns to extort money.
PNO Pa-O Pyithusitt Checkpoint in Lonekan under the junta’s control is situated on the east bank of Innlay lake, and on the road of Pinlaung- Nyaung Shwe. It is only 25 miles away from Pinlaung.
