MYANMAR: In North Okkala Township, Yangon Division and Minhla Township, Bago Division, over 10 youths have been taken as porters by atrocious junta’s army.
In the afternoon of December 26, the atrocious junta’s soldiers stationing at the rest house near rest house bus stop in North Okkala township reportedly took two youths as porters, entering into L ward.
A local civilian said, “The military dogs (nickname of junta’s soldiers) stationing at the rest house near rest house bus stop in North Okkala township came into the ward to take two youths as porters in the afternoon of Yesterday. The junta’s soldiers were seen, holding guns and took two youths from Hninsi L ward. They took the youths they had seen on the road. Two youths asked them why they were taken. The junta’s soldiers replied them that they had been taken as porters.”
At around 5:45 p.m. on the same day, the atrocious junta’s soldiers from (C) ward, North Okkala township patrolled the ward by private car and entered into Mahar Nwe Teashop on Okkala Street. They were seen taking (5) men as porters, announced by North Okkala Township People’s Defence Force.
Similarly, on December 24 and 25, (8) youths Nyaungwin village and Thayetpin Seik village near the road of Maharsi meditation centre at the exit of Minhla were taken as porters by the atrocious junta’s soldiers.
Moreover, on December 5, 22 year old Mr. Soe Htet Kyaw returning from Nyaungtone, Ayeyarwaddy division to Yangon has lost contact with the family members and has been missing so far.
“On December 5, Mr. Soe Htet Kyaw has lost the contact so far on his return to Yangon from Nyaungtone,” a local civilian said.
Similarly, 14 years old Mr. Kaung Khant Naing, a grade 9 student from Thingan Chaung village, Minhla township, Bago division left home to go to tuition at around 6:30 a.m. on December 25 is still missing.
