MYANMAR – Mr. Kyaw Zaw, the spokesperson of the President’s Office of the National Unity Government (NUG) said at the Press Briefing Program 2/2025 on January 21 that the economy of Myanmar is in ruins as the country was pushed into historic inflation by the junta council recklessly printing 31 trillion Kyats.
He said that the terrorist junta council is destroying Myanmar’s economy, that the commodity prices are at the highest while people are in poverty and that inflation is at a historic high.
“The terrorist junta council led by Min Aung Hlaing is destroying the economy of the entire country. The junta council’s serious mishandling of the economy and the reckless printing of 31 trillion Kyats pushed the inflation level to a historic high, causing commodity prices to rise exorbitantly and the ruined economy is dealing a hard blow to the people,” explained Mr. Kyaw Zaw.
In addition, he added that the junta council has cinched another record as the electricity supply also reached the lowest level, saying the situation of the people is at the worst.
“Another record for the terrorist junta council is that their actions resulted in a record low supply of electricity. They are unable to supply four hours of electricity per day even in cities like Yangon. The electricity situation is at its worst due to the mismanagement of the junta council as well as their disregard for the people,” continued the spokesperson of the President’s Office.
NUG also said that there are also multiple cases of the junta council abducting and forcibly conscripting people across the country regardless of time and that even underaged minors or elders are not spared.
