YANGON DIVISION- Nearly 400 young people who were forcefully recruited for the 9th batch of military service in Yangon have been sent to a military training school in Hopone, according to the parents and military sources.
Since the beginning of December youths have been abducted and forcibly arrested on the streets and towns in Yangon. The detainees were taken into (Yemon)police custody in Hlegu Township. On January 17, those youths were reportedly sent to the Junta Army Computer and Technology Science School in Hopone Town, Shan State.
” The youths who were forcefully arrested for the 9th batch of military service were sent to the computer and technology science school of Shan State, Hopone Army Headquarters yesterday morning at 8. They were transported in 20 military vehicles from the Ye Mon army in Hlegu Township. Before, they were kept at Bayint Naung Interrogation Corps. Now, they are transferred to Ye Mon Army and took off early in the morning to Shan State,” confirmed a military source.
In Yangon, due to the arbitrary arrests, they gathered more recruits than required. From the 1st batch of military service to the 9th, the Yangon Region still receives more recruits.
“Yangon is a crowded place and due to refugees who have moved in from other districts, we get more recruits than required. We recruited more than required numbers at each batch of military Training ” the army source explained.
In Yangon, especially in Hlaingtharya, Shwepyithar, South Dagon, and North Dagon Townships where industrial zones are located, the military and administrative groups raided the slam areas for checking guest lists and arrested young people almost every night this January, the locals reported.
