MYANMAR – More than 300 Myanmar revolution forces and civilian organisations sent an open letter to the CEO of Airbus, asking to suspend relations with China’s Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) for its involvement in the war crimes of the junta council by selling aircrafts and maintenance services to the latter.
The open letter pointed out that as Myanmar junta council is sanctioned by the EU, Airbus is inviting potential danger by investing in and dealing with an arms dealer of the terrorist junta council and asked Airbus to pay attention so that it is not abetting atrocious crimes via financial and tactical networks with China’s AVIC.
Currently, Airbus holds shares in China’s AVIC and civilian organizations warned that it could violate the arms embargo sanctions on the Myanmar junta council.
In addition, the civilian organizations urged Airbus to cease all ongoing and planned sales of military aircrafts, weapons and accessories to the terrorist junta council and to stop AVIC from providing maintenance, training and technical assistance to the junta air force.
As an aid of the terrorist junta council, AVIC has access to the technology and production methods of Airbus which benefited AVIC in its production of military weapons, as such, the open letter urged Airbus to increase control on its relations with subsidiaries including AVIC and to inform the public of those control measures.
If AVIC refuses to cease all business relationships with the Myanmar junta council, Airbus is urged to be accountable and cease all investment and relations with AVIC.
