KOREA – Member of South Korea’s National Assembly Policy Committee and NUG representative office team discussed visa difficulties, political prisoners of Myanmar people and how to help the people fleeing the war.
Lee Kang-il, a member of the National Policy Committee of the National Assembly of Korea, and the Myanmar Representative Office of the Republic of Korea of the National Unity Government discussed the future processes related to the Myanmar revolution from 12 to 1:00 p.m. on December 30th.
In the meeting Lee Kang-il, an elected representative from Cheongju Sangdang district, along with Secretary Geum Taeho, who asked and discussed in detail about the current situation of the Myanmar revolution and the situation of the Myanmar people who arrived in Korea and U Soe Moe Thu, head of the office of the NUG representative office, and U Win Paw Maung, who is in charge of administration had a reply and discussion.
Congressman Lee Kang-il is interested in human rights, refugee affairs and labor and is willing to help the needs of these sectors for the Myanmar revolution. He said in the meeting that he will find a way to help those who are in visa difficulties of revolutionary people, those who have been unjustly arrested and people facing difficulties due to the war.
The NUG representative office responded that to reorganization of the previously existing parliamentarians’ group on Myanmar issues, holding hearings in the parliament, possibility of cooperation between CRPH and the Korean National Assembly in this year.
In addition, the NUG representative office discussed that as NUG and ERO’s territorial dominance expands, they have continued to submit to the Korean National Assembly to give serious consideration to Korean investments in Myanmar and to cooperate for the necessary discussions.
Ko Tin Htay Aung, co-chairman of the anti-coup committee, and Ko Kyaw Min Than, office support member, also attended the meeting, and discussed the conditions of revolutionary activities of young people in Korea.
