KACHIN STATE – Kachin Independence Army (KIA) led Revolutionary Forces had accelerated offensive attacks to capture Bhamo and Mansi towns, according to a KIA frontline source.
Starting at 5:00 a.m., today, on January 6, the KIA-led Revolutionary Forces have intensified their offensive to capture Bhamo and Mansi towns. At present, KIA-led Revolutionary Forces have been able to penetrate inside Mansi and Bhamo towns, and the fights were intense in the towns.
“At 5 a.m., this morning, fighting was intense in Bhamo and Mansi. The KIA is intensifying its offensive,” a KIA frontline source explained.
KIA-led Revolutionary Forces have been fighting to seize Bhamo and Mansi since December 2024, and currently have captured junta bases including the Bhamo University of Technology, the police station, and the office of the General Administration Department, and have also captured military bases in Mansi, according to a KIA frontline source.
