KACHIN STATE – The news source from the front line said that “The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked and captured the Light Infantry Battalion 319 and 601 and Artillery Regiment 352 on Mansi Township and there were no more terrorist junta soldiers in Mansi Township that is now entirely controlled by the KIA.”
At 10:20 a.m. on January 8, the last remaining battalions of the junta council based in Mansi including the LIB 319 and 601, and Artillery Regiment 352 were completely captured. It is understood that the entire Mansi township has been cleared of the terrorist army and that the junta council troops who fled have been chased and eliminated. “Mansi Township has been completely cleared of junta dogs,” said a KIA frontline source.
The KIA has been attacking Mansi Township in Kachin State since 2023, and on the evening of May 13th, 2024, KIA joint forces were able to control Mansi Town. The KIA began attacking LIB 601, LIB 319 and Artillery Regiment 352 on December 4 and completely captured them after more than one month.
