BAGO DIVISION – An official from Tharyarwaddy District Battalion 1 Company 5, Gyobinkauk HERO Guerrilla Force, reported that they attacked the junta subordinate couple that reported Mr. Thein Than Htay, the father of a PDF soldier, to the junta council, leading to his murder, in Oakpho Township.
Around 12 p.m. on January 6, revolutionary forces attacked Zaw Gyi (aka) Zaw Htay and his wife Nyo Nyo Win, who reported Mr. Thein Than Htay to the junta council, at their house in Gwaychaung Village, Oakpho Township and Nyo Nyo Win reportedly died on the spot.
Zaw Gyi, on the other hand, was at the back of the house during the time of the attack and managed to escape while the revolutionary forces had to retreat due to the arrival of junta forces in the village.
“That couple was attacked as they have been collecting information of PDF soldiers and people who support the revolution in Gwaychaung Village. They were also involved in reporting Mr. Thein Than Htay, the father of a PDF soldier. Nyo Nyo Win was killed on the spot in the house. Her husband escaped,” said the official from Gyobinkauk HERO Guerrilla Force.
The attack was carried out by Tharyarwaddy District Battalion 1 Company 5, Gyobinkauk HERO Guerrilla Force, and an official from the team urged the people to be vigilant as they will be attacking the pillars of the terrorist junta council collecting information on the people supporting the revolution and PDF soldiers regardless of the location.
On January 5, terrorist junta soldiers tied up Mr. Thein Than Htay, the father of a PDF soldier on Chauktankwin Settwalyay Road and murdered him by beating him on the head then discarded his dead body on the roadside.
