YANGON DIVISION – The junta council’s No. 3 Steel Factory and the Shwepaukkan General Administration Office were attacked on the night of New Year’s Eve, according to Yangon urban revolution groups.
Around 11:40 p.m. on December 31, Yangon Army (YA) attacked the junta council forces partying at No. 3 Steel Factory in Ywama, Insein Township using three explosives, reported an official from YA.
“We properly carried out the attack to ensure that we hit the junta dogs (junta forces). We will continue to attack more targets until terrorist military dictatorship is eradicated,” explained the official from YA.
Similarly, an official from North Okkalarpa Township People’s Defence Team reported that the junta forces guarding the Shwepaukkan General Administration Office in North Okkalarpa Township were attacked on New Year’s Eve.
“The Shwepaukkan General Administration Office on Bagan Street was attacked with a hand grenade. We don’t know the details of the casualties yet. The bomb exploded and hit the target. All our comrades were able to return at ease,” said the official from the People’s Defence Team.
North Okkalarpa Township People’s Defense Team announced that they carried out the attack while the junta forces were partying at the time of new year celebrations and that the casualties are yet unknown.
“There was a loud sound from Shwepaukkan that sounded like an explosion or fireworks. But it’s not clear if it was an explosion or fireworks because of the noise. The sound was really loud,” said a resident of Shwepaukkan.
