MYANMAR – The junta council stated that the political parties including People’s Party of Mr. Ko Ko Gyi and AFP (Arakan Front Party) of Dr. Aye Maung suggested that the junta council increase the number of conscripted soldiers.
It is said that the political parties made this suggestion during the meeting between them and the junta council’s Peace Implementation Committee on January 24.
The items discussed at the meeting were also confirmed and signed by both the junta council and political parties and it is said that the two sides also discussed on how to make the People’s Defence Force (PDF) soldiers who emerged after the military coup return.
The meeting was attended by Min Aung Hlaing, Lieutenant General Tun Tun Naung, Mr. Ko Ko Gyi, the People’s Party chairman and executive team leader of the political parties and executive team members.
Min Aung Hlaing is also the chairman of the National Reconciliation and Peace Implementation Coordination Committee of the terrorist junta council.
The junta council has been forcibly conscripting young men between 18 and 35 across the country and is currently planning to conscript women as well.
In addition, the junta council also restricted young people from leaving the country and the young people in the country have been subjected to oppressions.
