SAGAING DIVISION – According to an accountable person of Ahnyar Mine Force, a company under BLDF (Burmese Liberation Democratic Front), the revolutionary alliance forces blasted the junta council troops who were extorting money from civilians on the Monywa-Mandalay road section in Chaung U Township, Sagaing Division. As a result, two junta council troops were reportedly killed.
At around 12 p.m. on January 19, the revolutionary forces attacked the junta council troops stationed at the multi-purpose farm in Chaung U Township using two landmines while they (the junta council troops) were extorting money from the passing civilians. Due to the attack, two junta council troops were reportedly killed at the scene and two were severely injured.
The accountable person of Ahnyar Mine Force under BLDF explained that “there were eight junta council troops who left from the multi-purpose farm and were extorting money. They didn’t fire back after the blast but retreated, dragging the dead bodies of their troops.”
That attack was carried out by the comrades from Chaung U based BLDF company, Ahnyar Nine Force. The revolutionary forces managed to retreat successfully. It was known that the defeated junta council troops retreated, bringing the dead bodies back to the multi-purpose farm.
