MYANMAR – Mr. Min Dattha from Yaw Alindan reported that the terrorist junta council carried out airstrikes in Kyaukhtu of Saw Township, Magway Division to prevent revolutionary forces from attacking its helicopter delivering ammunition to the junta base in town.
On December 27 around 2:50 p.m., a junta Mi-17 helicopter from the Monywa-based Northwestern Command landed at the air strip in Kyaukhtu and two MIG29 jet fighters from Magway Air Base attacked the vicinity of the town during the landing.
“The main thing was to take cover for the landing of the supply helicopter. They didn’t use bombs; they only opened fire into the area. They are mostly afraid of AA (Arakan Army). They randomly targeted areas they suspected. The plane (helicopter) was meant to land yesterday (December 26) but didn’t because of the leak of information. There haven’t been any updates regarding the damages from the airstrikes,” said Mr. Min Dattha.
The damages from said junta airstrikes are still being investigated, and it is said that the Mi 17 helicopter only stayed for around ten minutes and it is unclear yet what was unloaded or what was picked up.
Similarly, the terrorist junta council carried out air and artillery attacks in the area around Htanpibkone Village in Madaya Township, Mandalay Division, according to an official from Voice of Mandalay.
It is said that a terrorist junta jet attacked the area around the village at about 11 a.m. on December 27, followed by artillery attacks at around 11:45 a.m.
It is still not known yet if there were any damages or civilian casualties from those attacks.
