SAGAING DIVISION- On the Monywa-Mandalay road, resistance forces attacked the junta convoy with landmines, and they reportedly suffered casualties. Five soldiers who ran away from the military vehicle were caught alive, but the vehicle caught on fire and plunged into a ravine, said Major Mae Mhaung, who is in charge of the Mae Mhaung Public Defense Force told the media.
On December 15th, at around 5:00 p.m., a convoy of 79 vehicles including oil tankers and military vehicles leaving the headquarters of the 33rd Infantry Division was attacked by the revolutionary forces. PDFs detonated 17 landmines and fired small arms at the Ma-U Gate between Myayne and Tadarphyu (bridge)area.
During this attack, the terrorist military council soldiers were killed and five soldiers who got off and ran away from the military vehicle were arrested. A military vehicle caught on fire during the mine attack and plunged into the ravine.
“The dog (military)convoy from the 33rd Division was attacked with mines. The landmine attack near Ma U gate on the Monywa-Mandalay road between Myayne and Tadarphyu Bridge. Some war dogs may have been killed. Five soldiers who ran away from the car were arrested. No weapons were seized. The 5 military dogs got out of the car and ran away. I want to warn the public that if there are junta cars on the road, please don’t follow close to them,” said Major Mae Mhaung.
At present, the terrorist military troops are deployed at the hidden sentries on the Monywa-Mandalay road, and opening heavy artillery fire and small arms toward nearby villages. Some junta troops try to recover the car that fell into the ravine.
The attack was carried out by the Mae Mhaung Public Defense Force, Ar Lar Wa Ka Army, Yinmapin District No. 29 Battalion (Daung Min PDF), and allied forces.
