MON STATE – The terrorist junta council carried out artillery strikes and kamikaze drones attacks targeting the villages in Kyaikhto and Bilin Townships, damaging a school building and lampposts, reported the Karen National Union (KNU).
Around 8:45 p.m. on January 16, junta artillery battalion 310 based in Kyaikhto Township fired two 81mm shells that landed in the eastern part of Akhai Village. One of the shells exploded in the fields of Mr. Aung Ngwe and another in the fields of Mr. Win Maung, damaging several lampposts and also hitting a cattle.
Similarly, around 5 p.m. on the same day, terrorist junta forces attacked the school at Tagaylaung Village in Bilin Township using two kamikaze drones. One of the drones hit the roof of the school while the other exploded near the school.
Due to the attack, the roof and ceiling of the school were destroyed and the school has been closed as the residents of Tagaylaung Village and surrounding villages are frightened, said the KNU.
KNU said that the junta council intentionally attacked the village school and residential zones using two kamikaze drones.
