TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The terrorist junta army abducts two civilians, burns down homes and rubber plantations after clashes between them and the Revolutionary Forces in Palaw Township, according to locals and revolutionary news source.
The Revolutionary Forces combated the terrorist junta column that invaded Ta Po Village in Palaw Township, injuring at least eight junta soldiers, according to an official of Myeik District Battalion 1.
On January 11, at 1:30 p.m., the terrorist junta column with around 120 forces invaded to Ta Po Village in Palaw Township, and Drone Team of Myeik District Battalion 1, People’s Defence Force (PDF), carried out drone strikes on that junta column, injuring at least eight junta soldiers.
“The junta column withdrew at around 2:00 p.m. There was no ground fight. We attacked with drones only. Five residential houses and 50 acres of rubber plantations were burned. The fire is still burning,” he said.
The terrorist junta column that was injured by the attacks, abducted two men on the way back to Par Da Set Taw Yar Pagoda. In addition, they burned at least five houses and about 50 acres of rubber plantations along the retreat route.
The fire, which was ignited by the fascist junta forces, continued to burn until 11 a.m., on January 12, and the extent of damages and casualties may increase, according to the Myeik District Battalion 1.
The terrorist junta army has been flagrantly committing war crimes and is a cowardly terrorist organization that brutally abuses unarmed civilians when it cannot fight back with weapons.
The Myeik District Battalion 1, in conjunction with the Karen National Defence Organisation (KNDO), and has been unitedly fighting against the terrorist junta army. They urge the people to use the Myeik-Palaw-Dawei Union Road to travel only after confirming the military situation and strictly follow the announcements issued by the People’s Defence Force and its allies.
