MANDALAY DIVISION – An official from Mandalay Strike Force revealed that the terrorist junta council abducted and forcibly conscripted at least 122 young people in the seven townships of Mandalay during the first 15 days of January.
Between January 1 and 15, 19 young people from Aungmyaythazan Township, 15 from Chanayethazan, 17 from Mahaaungmyay, 19 from Chanmyatharsi, 19 from Pyigyitagun, 18 from Amrapura and 15 from Patheingyi, a total of 122 young people were abducted by the junta council.
“Regarding VPN, the (junta) police, soldiers and traffic police all check the phone after checking licences on the roads. There were at least five cases where young people were abducted after their phones were checked. 122 is just the number based on data available to us. The actual number could be higher,” said the official from Mandalay Strike Force.
Mandalay Strike Force explained that they based the number on data available to them and data reported in the media and added that the actual number on the ground could be higher.
It is said that the terrorist junta council has been abducting people under the conscription regardless of day or night, abducting young people at night while checking household registrations, targeting and abducting young people from basic income households returning from work and extorting and abducting people after checking their phones under the cyber security law that was enacted on January 1.
Therefore, young people are advised to delete data that needs to be erased including VPN softwares when going out or during household registration checks, avoid fanfares as much as possible, stay vigilant when going out and to pay attention to the movements of the junta forces in their surroundings and move away if necessary.
In addition, Mandalay Strike Force urged them to prepare for potential situations where they might be forcibly conscripted with their family taken hostage and to report to revolutionary organisations if abducted.
