MON STATE – Five junta soldiers were killed in an infighting between junta forces at the Towertai Camp in Ingabo Village, Kyaikhto Township and a junta officer from the camp reportedly fled together with the junta soldier that carried out the shooting.
Around 4 p.m. on December 29, junta forces got into an argument at the camp in Ingabo Village which escalated to one junta soldier chasing, shooting and killing five soldiers. Following that, the soldier who carried out the shooting is said to have fled together with an officer from that camp, bringing along weapons.
“We haven’t received updates of those who fled with weapons. They didn’t contact us either. We were told that they (junta forces) were scouring that area with five vehicles this morning. They must be doing so because there were weapons involved. The cars arrived from Kyaikhto and Theinzayat,” said a resident.
The Towertai Camp in Ingabo Village is located next to the communication tower of junta owned Mytel Company and it is said that junta forces were deployed to protect that communication tower.
