MON STATE – The terrorist army destroyed homes in Hlaing Ward and Thayar Aye Ward in Mawlamyine, Mon State by using bulldozers and earth excavators. Residents of the area said that the residents of the remaining homes were fleeing by taking their belongings.
The township development committee under the junta council of Hlaing ward suing that trespass buildings and fences and unlawful monasteries and they are putting up signs saying that if it is not removed and cleaned up by January 26th, it will be cleaned up in accordance with the law. It is reported that public houses are being forcibly demolished with bulldozers and people are starting to move from the remaining houses.
The homes that were forced to move by the terrorist army were the homes that were transferred and bought from the landowners 8 years ago. Because the army is threatening to force them to move, the people in the neighborhood do not know where to move and are crying and worried. It is learned that the terrorist army has threatened to shoot if they don’t move out and the people are afraid.
“The war dogs have been destroying public buildings in Mawlamyine using earth excavators. They are starting to demolish from Hlaing ward side. There are many houses that have been ordered to be demolished in Thayar Aye Ward as well. People are crying, and there are many people who are moving,” said a local resident.
The order to dismantle public homes was issued by the Minister of Security and Border Affairs at a meeting held at the Aung San Hall of the Mon State Government Office at around 9:00 a.m. on January 10th. In case of non-compliance, it was ordered to take action in accordance with the law.
