MYANMAR- The Terrorist Military Council has opened military training batches 1 to 9 under their conscription law, forcing youths from all over Myanmar to do military service. However, it has been verified that the children and grandchildren of the military leader Min Aung Hlaing and the generals have not yet been included (even though they are eligible).
Due to the conscription law, many youths nationwide were arrested and forced to serve in the military, as well as being banned from traveling abroad.
The Military Council activated the Conscription Law on February 10, 2024, and opened Military Training Batch/Class 1 in May 2024. On January 23, 2025, the Conscription Act was promulgated, and the trainees for Batch 9 were recruited in late January.
Starting with terrorist leader Min Aung Hlaing, high-ranked Military Generals, Cabinet Ministers of the War Council, and Deputy Ministers whose children and grandchildren are eligible for military service have not yet joined until the current military service week 9.
CDM Captain Lin Htet Aung said that the military service law does not influence the children of generals and military families.
“Families of top generals and ministers will be far from getting recruited to the military. Even the children of township, ward, and village administrators’ sons, nephews, and relatives are not named in the military service list. Military service enlistment targeted people at the grassroots level and youths from low-income families. He who has money solves this forced military enlistment with money(paying bribes). Those who have the power abuse the power to prevent their sons and relatives from being recruited. Those who suffer because of this Conscription Law are civilians,” said CDM Captain Lin Htet Aung.
If you know of people who are not included in the military enlistment (through special treatment) like
Min Aung Hlaing’s children and grandchildren and high-ranked military officials, please tip the information to the media.
