
The leader of the Ye Bilu Group has confirmed that their forces attacked soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 343 in Ye Township, Mon State, resulting in 7 military council soldiers killed and more than 15 injured. The clash occurred on March 9 in the morning when military council troops from LIB 343 conducted checks at the entrance of Taung Sone village and then entered an area that had been blockaded by the Ye Bilu Group.
Approximately 60 military council troops, armed with heavy and light weapons, conducted checks at the entrance of Taung Sone village before intruding into territory controlled by the Ye Bilu Group. In response to this intrusion, the Ye Bilu Group launched a coordinated attack, forcing the military council troops to retreat towards War Kyaung Aru mountain with casualties. In the evening, the Ye Bilu Group pursued and attacked the retreating forces up to War Kyaung Aru mountain, resulting in additional military casualties.
Regarding the battle details, the Ye Bilu Group leader explained that the conflict began around 9 AM when they engaged the military council troops who had entered their controlled territory. Around 5 PM, they launched another attack on the retreating soldiers near War Kyaung monastery, causing mass casualties. He confirmed that 7 soldiers were killed and more than 15 were wounded in the engagement.
After the battle, the military council troops evacuated their dead and wounded to Ye Hospital, while the Ye Bilu Group successfully withdrew from the area. This battle represents a people’s resistance operation against the military council’s oppression of local civilians in the region.
