
On August 6 at approximately 12:30 PM, the military council conducted an aerial attack on Tharawppin village in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region, despite there being no active fighting in the area. The attack resulted in injuries to a 35-year-old woman and caused significant damage to a local school. According to local sources, the military council deliberately targeted civilian areas without any military engagement in the region, demonstrating an intentional attack on civilian infrastructure and populations.
Additionally, the military council carried out further aerial attacks on villages in the southwestern part of Thaungtha Township, Mandalay Region. Between 1:39 AM and 2:06 AM on August 6, a military aircraft from Meiktila Air Base conducted twelve separate bombing runs on villages in the area. While there were no reported casualties from these attacks, local residents were forced to flee their homes and seek safety elsewhere. The continuous nature of these aerial assaults has created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty among the local population.
The situation in Thaungtha Township has become particularly dire, with residents no longer feeling safe sleeping in their villages during the night. Due to the military council’s frequent nighttime aerial attacks using aircraft, villagers have resorted to sleeping outside their villages to ensure their safety. Local sources report that civilians are living in constant fear of additional aerial attacks, as the military council has established a pattern of nearly nightly bombing raids. These deliberate attacks by the military council have severely disrupted daily civilian life and created ongoing security concerns for local residents, who continue to face uncertainty about their safety and future.
