
MYANMAR: United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced the warning to be aware of the scam and fraud of providing help to immigrate to third country through Malaysia.
As the government of United States officially announced the temporary suspension of “The United States Refugee Admissions Program”, UNHCR is still awaiting the announcement and instructions of the United States Government in terms of immigrating refugees to US.
As the temporary suspension is affected to family reunion programs and WelcomeCorps program, the individual is suggested not to do anything such as resigning from the current job, quitting the children from school and selling their personal properties with the hope of leaving to third country soon during the suspension period.
Moreover, there could be scam and fraud in this period. So, the fraudulent to provide aids to go abroad and to provide immediate services are specifically needed to be aware.
It is also reminded not to give any money to those who commit to support aids to go abroad and not to believe anyone who cheat money by providing helps to support the refugee file case to achieve immediate access.
UNHCR also announces the contact numbers to complain in case the fraudulent cases are known.
