U Min Ko Naing, Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, has announced that the intensity of fighting will increase as preparations are made for nationwide offensives against the terrorist military council. This statement was made during a call for donations yesterday, May 27, to build secure hospitals for safe healthcare delivery in Myanmar. With revolutionary forces and People’s Defense Forces preparing for nationwide offensives, there is an urgent need for secure medical facilities as civilian casualties are expected to rise due to the military council’s airstrikes. U Min Ko Naing emphasized that safe hospitals and clinics are crucial during this critical period.
The military council forces have been deliberately targeting hospitals, clinics, schools, and civilian infrastructure with airstrikes in a fascist manner, creating an urgent need for secure medical facilities for both revolutionary fighters and civilians. Currently, there have been casualties due to the inability to provide timely medical treatment to those injured in battles. Therefore, U Min Ko Naing stressed the necessity of establishing mobile clinics and hospitals that can withstand aerial attacks. He explained that many lives have been lost due to delays in reaching medical facilities and the lack of safe treatment locations.
Currently, there are numerous medical professionals, healthcare workers, and CDM doctors and nurses available who have received necessary training. Despite limited medical equipment and supplies, they are striving to provide the best possible medical care with available resources. However, they face significant challenges due to the lack of secure locations safe from airstrikes. U Min Ko Naing urged public support for constructing medical facilities that can withstand aerial bombardment. He noted that while medical personnel can manage with limited equipment and improvise when necessary, the critical need is for creating secure environments where they can safely treat patients.
U Min Ko Naing emphasized that public participation is crucial for the success of the revolution. He explained that these requests for support are being made on behalf of all revolutionary forces fighting on the ground. He appealed to the public to contribute whatever they can to support the cause. He expressed hope that with this support, final battles would lead to swift victory, allowing everyone to return to peaceful civilian life. He concluded by highlighting that the revolution relies on people’s power and requires concentrated effort from the public to support those fighting on the frontlines, emphasizing that these needs represent the requirements of all those actively engaged in combat.
