
Local residents reported that two women were killed and eight people were injured when the military junta forces fired heavy artillery at internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nabu Taw village, Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region. The incident occurred on September 9th when military forces stationed at Bon Bwe Pyu Saw Htee village launched artillery attacks on the forest area where IDPs from Nabu Taw village had taken shelter.
The artillery attack resulted in the immediate death of two displaced women, while eight other civilians sustained injuries, with two of them reported to be in critical condition. Additionally, the military troops stationed at Bon Bwe Pyu Saw Htee village conducted a raid on Nabu Taw village, during which they forcibly arrested civilians and compelled them to load their household belongings onto military vehicles. According to local witnesses, the military column later withdrew to Bon Bwe Pyu Saw Htee village after the operation.
A local resident reported that on the evening of September 9th, the military forces from Bon Bwe village first attacked Nabu Taw village with small arms fire, during which a young person was shot in the hip. The troops then forcibly dragged villagers from their homes and made them load civilian property onto military vehicles. After withdrawing to Bon Bwe village, the military forces launched artillery attacks on the area, resulting in civilian casualties among the displaced persons. It was noted that the military column responsible for these attacks has been stationed at Bon Bwe Pyu Saw Htee village since August 16th, from where they have been conducting raids on nearby villages and engaging in destructive activities, including burning down houses.
