
A drone strike targeted the house of Pyu Saw Htee leader Aung Gyi in Let Pan village, located along the Sittaung River in Waw Township, Bago Region. The attack, which occurred around 6 PM on March 18, resulted in the death of two military council soldiers and left seven Pyu Saw Htee members severely injured. The injured were initially taken to Myit Kyoe Hospital before being transferred to Taungoo Hospital for further treatment. The strike was carried out while military council troops and Pyu Saw Htee members were gathered at the residence.
Let Pan village is known to be one of the strongest Pyu Saw Htee strongholds among the villages along the Sittaung River, with over 30 Pyu Saw Htee members based there. The leader, Aung Gyi, has been known for repeatedly challenging local People’s Defense Force (PDF) members. The drone strike was conducted by the Taungni column, targeting a gathering of military council soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members at the residence. The incident demonstrates the increasing capabilities of resistance forces in the region, particularly in their use of drone technology for precision strikes against military council targets and their affiliated groups.
