Two soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 269 in Tedim, Chin State, including Lance Corporal Myo Min Kyaw and Private Maung Pho Khwar, have defected to PDF Zoland with their weapons and ammunition. The defection, which occurred on April 3, represents another instance of declining morale within the military council forces and increasing solidarity with the people’s resistance movement.
The defecting soldiers brought with them two MA-series rifles, ammunition magazines, bullets, hand grenades, Energa rifle grenades, communication equipment, and other military supplies. In recognition of their defection with weapons and ammunition, PDF Zoland awarded them with honorary compensation. The resistance group has confirmed that the defecting soldiers are being safely accommodated and well taken care of under their protection.
PDF Zoland has extended an invitation to remaining soldiers within the military council’s forces to join the people’s side, assuring that all defectors will be received with full security measures in place. Currently, there is observable declining morale among military council troops, with increasing instances of desertion and defection. These defections not only weaken the military council’s strength but also represent an encouraging development for the people’s revolution. The resistance group has emphasized their commitment to protecting and supporting those who choose to defect from the military council’s forces and join the democratic movement.
