Two Pyu Saw Htee members who were transporting weapons and ammunition for the military council were captured and subsequently killed during an escape attempt on the Bagan-Nyaung-U road in Mandalay Region, according to the Bagan Bo Cho PDF territory commander. The incident occurred around 10 AM on March 23, when Zaw Myint from Thanpinyin village and Aung Soe Win from Suepatkone village were driving in a private vehicle along the Bagan-Nyaung-U road when they encountered a surprise checkpoint set up by Bagan Bo Cho PDF and allied forces.
During the inspection, incriminating documents were discovered and seized from their possession. Under interrogation, they confessed to working with another individual named Kyaw Myo Linn to transport 50,000 rounds of ammunition from Military Supply and Transport Battalion 21 to Infantry Division 101 in Pakokku. When PDF members attempted to take them for further questioning, the two Pyu Saw Htee members suddenly resisted and attempted to escape. Revolutionary forces pursued and opened fire while trying to recapture them, resulting in both men being killed in the encounter.
Regarding this incident, Bagan Bo Cho PDF territory commander Bo Rakha has urged residents in the Bagan-Nyaung-U and Chauk township areas to comply with announcements from revolutionary forces. The PDF has also stated that they will continue to identify and take action against those who transport weapons, ammunition, and supplies for the military council. It was learned that security measures in the region will be further tightened to prevent similar activities.
