Two police officers under the military council were killed in a mine attack while patrolling on motorcycles along the Yangon-Pyay road in Minhla Township, Bago Region, according to local sources. The incident occurred around 11 AM on June 18 near the entrance sign of Gindatkone village in Minhla Township. Revolutionary forces targeted the police officers who were conducting motorcycle patrols in the area, successfully carrying out the mine attack on the Yangon-Pyay road section.
Following the explosion, military council troops arrived at the scene in a military vehicle and retrieved the bodies of the two deceased police officers, as confirmed by local residents. The revolutionary forces were able to withdraw from the area successfully without any casualties. According to local sources, military council troops arrived approximately 15 minutes after the mine explosion occurred.
The region has seen an increase in revolutionary force activities, with various forms of attacks being carried out against military council troops and their subordinate forces. While the military council attempts to maintain security control in the area, they have not been able to effectively prevent attacks by revolutionary forces, according to local residents’ assessments. The Yangon-Pyay road section, being a crucial transportation route, has become a strategic target for revolutionary forces. The incident demonstrates the ongoing conflict between revolutionary forces and military council-affiliated security forces in the region.
