
A spokesperson from the Daung People’s Revolutionary Force has confirmed that two police officers were killed during an attack on six motorcycles carrying military council troops in Pyawbwe Township, Mandalay Region. The incident occurred around 10 AM on April 27, 2024, west of Paypinshay village in Paypinshay village tract, Pyawbwe Township. The attack was carried out when military council forces were traveling on motorcycles from the direction of Nyaungkone.
The operation was a joint effort by the Daung People’s Defense Force, Thazi People’s Defense Force, and Pyawbwe Youth Group. During the engagement, the military council forces returned fire, but were forced to retreat while dragging away the bodies of two fallen police officers. The resistance forces successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties, while the military council forces retreated due to their losses. The incident demonstrates the effective coordination between local defense forces in responding to military council operations in the area.
