
An armed robbery at Shwe Nan Thuka gold shop in Maharaungmye Township, Mandalay Region, led to a shootout between the robbers and military council forces on July 24th in the evening, resulting in injuries to two civilians, according to local sources. The incident occurred around 4 PM at the gold shop located between 85th and 86th streets on 39th Street.
The situation began when armed individuals entered the gold shop to commit robbery. Shortly after, military council forces arrived at the scene, leading to an exchange of gunfire between the two groups. Witnesses reported hearing at least 10 gunshots during the confrontation, causing panic among local residents who fled the area for safety. Emergency medical services arrived at the scene to transport the injured to nearby hospitals.
Following the incident, military council forces cordoned off the area and conducted security checks in the surrounding vicinity.
