
Two revolutionary fighters from the Mogok People’s Defense Force (PDF) were killed in an airstrike by the military council during a battle in the Seven Mile area of Pyinoolwin Township, Mandalay Region, according to frontline revolutionary sources. The incident occurred on April 3rd, where the two fallen revolutionaries were identified as 31-year-old Comrade Phyo Thut Paing (aka) Paing Gyi and 28-year-old Aung Pyae Sone (aka) Comrade Swe Sone. Additionally, two other revolutionary fighters were wounded by bomb fragments during the aerial attack.
During the battle, the military council conducted airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of the two fighters whose bodies remained in the trenches and could not be retrieved, as described by a frontline revolutionary fighter who participated in the battle. Currently, intense daily battles continue between military council forces and revolutionary groups throughout Pyinoolwin Township. The military council forces typically launch attacks using 40mm weapons and incendiary bombs in the morning, while at night, they reportedly engage in disorderly conduct, appearing to be under the influence of drugs. According to military council defectors, there have been significant casualties among military council troops.
The ongoing battles in the Seven Mile area of Pyinoolwin involve coordinated efforts between the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), Mogok Strategy Mandalay PDF (MDY PDF), and the Mogok Township People’s Defense Force (PDF). The Mogok Township PDF has been actively participating in revolutionary operations since the Battle of Mogok and continues to fight bravely alongside allied revolutionary forces in the current Seven Mile battle, maintaining a strong presence on the frontlines. While the loss of these revolutionary fighters represents a significant sacrifice for Myanmar’s revolution, the remaining revolutionary forces remain committed to continuing the fight until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system.
The Mogok Township People’s Defense Force has established itself as one of the most active and courageous fighting units in the revolution, consistently engaging in frontline operations from the initial Battle of Mogok through to the current conflicts in the Seven Mile area. Their dedication to the revolutionary cause and willingness to coordinate with other resistance forces has made them a crucial component of the broader resistance movement. Despite the tragic losses suffered in this recent battle, the revolutionary forces maintain their resolve to continue fighting against the military council’s oppression, demonstrating the unwavering determination of Myanmar’s revolutionary movement in their struggle for democracy and freedom from military rule.
