A military column was attacked with mines on the Monywa-Mandalay road in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in the death of two soldiers, according to an official from The Pentagran People’s Defense Force. The attack occurred at 6:30 AM on July 23rd when the military convoy was traveling eastward from Nat Ye Kan military camp. The convoy, consisting of two 6-wheeler trucks and one civilian vehicle carrying approximately 50 personnel, was attacked between Nat Ye Kan and Yepyisar areas, resulting in two soldiers killed and five others injured.
Providing details about the attack, the Pentagran official explained that the military column had arrived at Nat Ye Kan since yesterday morning and was moving in formation along the road when they were attacked with mines at the eastern junction near Nat Ye Kan. The official also noted that resistance groups operating along the route have been coordinating both intelligence sharing and operational activities. The attack was carried out through collaboration between multiple revolutionary forces, including the Pentagran People’s Defense Force, Monywa District PDF Ngamoeyet Column, Scorpion PDF, and other resistance groups.
The Pentagran forces continue to conduct operations along the Sagaing-Shwebo and Sagaing-Monywa routes in coordination with allied revolutionary groups. They have also made an appeal to the public for support in providing needed bulletproof helmets for their ongoing operations. The group maintains active resistance operations in the region as part of the broader revolutionary movement against the military council, working in close coordination with various allied forces to conduct strategic operations while prioritizing the protection of civilians.
